Ordnary people are targets of terrorism

On Friday 9th May I reported on the Christians for Zion web site the death of  Jimmy Kedoshim father of three who was killed by mortar fire while standing in the garden of his home in Kibbutz Kfar Aza Nr Sderot southern Israel which is a small community on undisputed land. Jimmy left a wife and three grown up children. This was not widely reported here in the UK and some press agencies gave no coverage at all.

This kibbutz is were our friend Naomi and her three children live. I have spoken to Naomi and she knew Jimmy , they are close neighbours and he and his wife often baby sat for Naomi’s children. Naomi said that the kibbutz has no alarm system and that the terrorists are now targeting these small Israeli communities with their ever increasingly sophisticated rockets and shells.  Naomi is devastated and sobbed whilst she told Shirley my wife how she and her family are coping with the sudden death of their friend and neighbour and the barrage of rockets that continue daily.

The children are not allowed to play out and the kibbutz is under a self-imposed curfew for their own safety.

More rockets have been fired from Gaza this year than in all of 2007 and I have learned this morning that 40 families from this Kibbutz are leaving but Naomi is staying.

These communities are made up of ordinary people who simply want peace and have no axe to grind yet are the targets of fundamental Muslim terrorists who want to destroy them because they want their land for as another Muslim controlled nation.

My own family and I will be seeing Naomi and her children when we visit Israel in two weeks time and it would be wonderful if I could take messages from you to encourage this small community. Would you please e-mail me with your messages and I will take them for her and her friends in Kfar Aza.

Please do all you can to tell this and other true life stories that would otherwise go unheard here in the UK.

Mike
